Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our geodesic dome systems.

General

Basic questions about our domes and company.

A geodesic dome is a spherical structure composed of a network of triangles that distribute stress evenly across the entire surface. This design makes them incredibly strong — pound for pound, the strongest structure known to engineering. Our domes use this principle across three product lines: canvas event domes (EVE), greenhouse domes (BIO), and permanent cement-insulated homes (GEO).
We offer domes in 12 sizes: 12ft, 15ft, 20ft, 26ft, 30ft, 40ft, 44ft, 50ft, 60ft, 70ft, 80ft, and 90ft in diameter. Floor areas range from approximately 113 sq ft (12ft dome) to over 6,300 sq ft (90ft dome). Use our 3D Explorer to see specifications for each size.
EVE DOMES are canvas-based structures designed for events and temporary use. They go up in 4-8 hours and are wind-rated to 80mph.

BIO DOMES are polycarbonate greenhouse systems with 95% light transmission, automated climate control, and solar-powered ventilation.

GEO DOMES are permanent insulated homes built with reinforced cement composite, rated for 200+ mph winds with R-40 insulation and a 100+ year lifespan.
Yes! We deliver worldwide. All dome kits are flat-packed into standard shipping containers, making international logistics straightforward. We handle customs documentation and work with trusted freight partners for door-to-site delivery.

Assembly & Construction

How our domes are built and installed.

Assembly time depends on the dome type and size. EVE canvas domes can be erected in 4-8 hours. BIO greenhouse domes typically take 2-4 weeks. GEO permanent dome homes require 8-16 weeks depending on size and customization. We provide full assembly teams or comprehensive DIY documentation.
EVE and smaller BIO domes are designed for DIY assembly. Every kit includes step-by-step illustrated guides, video tutorials, and all necessary hardware. Larger BIO domes and all GEO domes are recommended for professional assembly due to the specialized materials involved — we offer full installation services.
EVE domes can be anchored to grass, gravel, or hard surfaces with our staking/ballast system — no permanent foundation needed. BIO domes require a level compacted base or low wall foundation. GEO domes require a reinforced concrete ring foundation or slab, which we can design for your specific site conditions.
Permit requirements vary by location. EVE domes are often classified as temporary structures and may not require permits. BIO and GEO domes typically require standard building permits. We provide engineering stamps, structural calculations, and documentation packages to support your permit application.

Pricing & Warranty

Investment details and protection.

Pricing varies by dome type, size, and customization options. We provide custom quotes for every project. As a general guide, EVE domes start from the most affordable range, BIO domes are mid-range, and GEO dome homes are a premium investment comparable to (but often less than) conventional construction per square foot. Request a quote for detailed pricing.
EVE Domes: 5-year structural warranty, 3-year canvas warranty. BIO Domes: 15-year structural warranty, 10-year panel warranty. GEO Domes: Lifetime structural warranty. All dome types include a 1-year full coverage warranty on hardware and fittings.
Every dome kit includes the complete structural frame, covering/cladding (canvas, polycarbonate, or cement panels), all connectors and hardware, door assemblies, assembly tools, illustrated instructions, and video access. Options like windows, ventilation systems, insulation, and interior finishing packages are available as add-ons.

Durability & Performance

How our domes handle real-world conditions.

Geodesic domes are inherently wind-resistant due to their aerodynamic shape. EVE domes are rated for 80mph winds. GEO domes exceed Category 5 hurricane ratings at 200+ mph. The dome shape also sheds snow loads efficiently and performs exceptionally well in seismic zones due to its distributed-stress design.
GEO domes use approximately 50% less energy for heating and cooling compared to conventional homes of the same size. This is because a dome has roughly 30% less surface area than a rectangular building enclosing the same volume, reducing thermal transfer. Combined with R-40 insulation, they're among the most energy-efficient residential structures available.
Yes! Multiple domes can be connected via covered walkways or tunnel connectors to create dome clusters. This is popular for eco-resorts (connecting individual guest domes), greenhouse complexes, and residential compounds where different domes serve different functions (living, studio, greenhouse).
